“…and God created all men equal”. Oh, no he didn’t – everyone’s head is different and because of this correct helmet sizing cannot be overstressed. Naturally, all our helmets meet the current safety standards, they’re British Standard [BS kite mark] or increasingly European Standard [CE mark] and we’ve styles and prices to suit all pockets. brakes brakes

brakes

Okay, okay! Hardly an accessory, more a necessity! We’re obviously talking upgrades here: from V-brake improvements from a pad change to the subtlety, modulation and sheer eye-popping power of sophisticated hydraulic systems. Which pad with which rim, which rotor with which fork, hydraulic choices for rim and disc ? Hope, Magura and Shimano lead the way with other niche products ordered to your preference. Again, specialist advice can be essential so spend it wisely and be amazed by the results.

rear light front light

lighting

“…tut, tut – fumbling in the dark again?” See AND be seen. Traditional cycle lighting is now dramatically improved thanks to new technologies. Old style bulbs have given way to xenons, LEDs [micro, single, multiple], halogens, High Intensity Discharge systems and luxeon filamentless emitters. Phew! You benefit from brighter lights with vastly superior burn times. Likewise, batteries now span tiny to mighty: AAA throw away to rechargeable NiCad, NiMh and the latest Lithium Ion at prices to suit all pockets.

a d-lock a chain lock

locks

“lock it or lose it” Tired of hearing it? We're tired of saying it. Your pride and joy is easy to steal with feeble, or worse still, no security: Gone in 60 seconds – you’d better believe it. Form filling is boring so let someone else be a statistic. Security ain’t sexy but d-locks, cable locks and chains from Kryptonite, Squire, Magnum and Abus are. INSURANCE STRONGLY ADVISED ON ALL BIKES – DEDICATED POLICY INFORMATION IN STORE.

tyres

“They’re black, they’re round – and I don’t care about them ‘til they go flat. Boring!” Not so, amigos. Today, every branch of cycling has tyres dedicated to the task: designed to get the best from you – designed to get the best from your bike. Whatever your thing is: recreation, general commuting, road work, cross-country, trials, bmx, touring, downhill or cyclo cross, from our large range we can tell you about them, we can show you them, we can sell you them and if you ask politely, we can even fit them – leaving you to decide the colour, weight, puncture protection, foldability and price. Easy.
